Erik Brechnitz
Mr.
Brechnitz has had a career in the investment banking business spanning
45 years. In addition, he was the founder and Chairman of the Hickory
Point Bank which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Archer Daniels
Midland.
Mr Brechnitz holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Finance
from the University of Missouri, and has done graduate work at the
New Institute of Finance. Currently he is Senior Partner of The
Brechnitz Group of Raymond James Financial.
Mr. Brechnitz was elected to the Decatur, IL City Council and served
from 1980 to 1990 at which time he was elected Mayor of Decatur
and served a four year term. He served as Chairman of the Decatur
Public Building Commission, President of the Community Investment
Corporation of Decatur and Chairman of the Economic Development
Foundation of Decatur and Macon County. Mr. Brechnitz has been a
trustee of Millikin University since 1995 and currently serves as
Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Brechnitz currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Hideaway
Beach Special Tax District Board and is President of the Board of
Directors of Hideaway Beach Association on Marco Island.
Mr. Brechnitz begins his service with the Marco island Community
Foundation as Trustee and Vice Chairman.

John Buchanan
After
graduating from the University of Iowa, Mr. Buchanan co-founded
an insurance consulting firm that later merged with Marsh and McLennan
Companies-the world’s leading insurance brokerage and consulting
services firm.
Mr. Buchanan and his wife Ellen have received numerous awards and
recognition for a lifetime of involvement and philanthropy. He spent
10 years teaching entrepreneurial education at the University of
Iowa and still mentors many in the starting of their own business.

Mr. Buchanan divides his time between homes in Hideaway Beach,
Iowa and Wisconsin. He begins his service to the Marco island Community
Foundation as Trustee and Treasurer of the corporation.

Barbara J. Freeman
Mrs.
Freeman, a native of the Cleveland, Ohio area, attended Miami University
(Ohio), and completed her education with a degree in Interior Design
from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. Licensed in Connecticut,
she headed her own design company bearing her name for 20 years.
Married to fellow MICF Board member, Richard Freeman, they raised
four children and came to Marco Island as owners in 1989.
Mrs. Freeman was a docent at the Connecticut Museum of Art, Science
and Industry and has been on the volunteer staff at the Naples Philharmonic
for four years. She also taught in the Connecticut Art Goes to School
program for seven years. In addition, she is a Chaplains Assistant
in Pastoral Care at a major Connecticut hospital and is certified
in American Red Cross Disaster Training and Shelter Management.
She is a mentor to an Immokalee tutor in the Guadalupe After School
Program in that community.Mrs. Freeman is a past Board member of
her condominium community on Marco and is a member of the Hideaway
Beach
Club and the Classics Country Club in Naples.
She begins her service with the Marco Island Community Foundation
as a Trustee.

Richard F. Freeman
Mr.
Freeman is a native of Chappaqua, NY and graduated from Miami University
(Ohio) and the Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
A 35 year career in banking included the last 15 years as President
and CEO of a Connecticut regional bank. In 1992, he came out of
retirement to head up the largest community foundation in Fairfield
County for eight years. He came to Marco as a Florida resident in
2000 and resides at Hideaway Beach with his wife and fellow Board
member, Barbara.
Mr. Freeman has been a director of two NYSE companies, two insurance
companies and two banks in addition to chairing the Board of a Connecticut
hospital. He has also chaired the Board of Cities in Schools, and
taught at the Center for Financial Studies at Fairfield University
for ten years. During his business career he ran Capital Development
drives for Fairfield University, YMCA, YWCA, Music for the Handicapped,
the Bridgeport Zoological Society and Miami University. He also
spent six years as an Advisory Board member for the Federal Reserve
Bank of New York.
Mr. Freeman has chaired the City of Marco Island Special Tax District
during his recent years on Marco. He begins his service with the
Marco Island Community Foundation as Trustee and Chairman- President.

Larry N. Magel
Mr.
Magel is a Florida resident who has a diverse background in information
technology and law firm administration. Married to Joanna, he holds
a degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University and
is a Certified Data Processor. He has designed computer systems
for such organizations as Bell and Howell, Sara Lee, the City of
Chicago and the Midwest Stock Exchange. His data expertise migrated
to a service bureau operation that handled data for over 60 law
firms nationwide.
For the past over 25 years, Mr. Magel has been the Executive Director
or Chief Non legal Officer of major law firms. His last position
before retirement was with a major law firm (750 lawyers), based
in New York City with offices around the world.
During his New York years, Mr. Magel was Vice President of the
Grand Street Settlement House, an inner city social services organization
that provides employment training, teen counseling, and assistance
to the economically challenged aging population of the City.
Mr. Magel is Vice President and a member of the board of his Marco
Island condominium association. He is a member of the Hideaway Beach
Club and the Island Country Club.
Mr. Magel begins his service with the Marco Island Community Foundation
as Trustee and Secretary.

James H. Wilson, M.D.
Dr.
Wilson is a Florida resident who is an orthopedic surgeon. Married
to Sharon Wilson and father of two adult children, Jim is also a
certified stock broker with a Series 7 license that he has held
for the past 20 years. A certified scuba master diver he has specialized
training in cave and technical diving. A graduate of Purdue University
and the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Dr Wilson interned
at the University of Florida Teaching Hospital and completed his
residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois Hospital.
For the past 21 years he has been CEO of the Princeton Orthopedic
Clinic in Princeton, Illinois where he resides when not on Marco
Island.
His professional career has included Chief of Staff duties at Perry
Memorial Hospital in Illinois, Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at the
Cherry Point, N.C. Naval Hospital while in the US Navy, Associate
Professor of Surgery at University of Illinois Medical School and
Director of LaSalle(IL) Crippled Children’s Clinic for 12
years.
He has served on the Boards of four banks in the State of Illinois
and provided his expertise to numerous groups involving orthopedic
medicine, undersea diving activity and investment strategy. On Marco
he is a member of the Hideaway Beach Club and the Island Country
Club.
Dr. Wilson begins his service with the Marco Island Community Foundation
as Trustee and Vice Chairman
